It’s been said that you can’t understand a person until you’ve walked a mile in her shoes. Northwest Arkansas’ newest event, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, asks men and women to literally do just that – walk a mile in high heels to raise funds and awareness for domestic violence prevention.
The accompanying Shoes & Blues Soiree will be one of the first events hosted at the new 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville and will feature an evening of blues music, fabulous shoes, and hors d’oeuvres prepared by one of the finest culinary teams in the nation. A limited number of tickets are available for the event, which will afford attendees the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of northwest Arkansas’ hottest new location while raising funds for the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter.
Every nine seconds. That’s how often a woman in the United States is assaulted or beaten.
Whether it’s your sister, mother, friend or coworker, most of us know someone who’s been a victim of domestic violence. Luckily there’s a resource in northwest Arkansas to assist the women, children, and men who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault – the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter.
Save the date for March 2, 2013 and join us for two fun events to help eradicate domestic violence in northwest Arkansas.
